The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against politicising First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s appeal for donations towards completing the National Library.
In a statement on Monday, APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo said private donations and endowments were a global practice that complemented government’s role in nation-building.
He urged Nigerians to view the First Lady’s gesture as a positive contribution to education and national development, rather than through a political lens.
Oladejo added that the focus should remain on strengthening national institutions and fostering a culture of public–private partnership for the common good.
