Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appointed Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna State, as chairman of its campaign council for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election.

In a letter dated April 24, 2026, signed by the party’s National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the APC said the appointment reflects Sani’s “distinguished leadership, political experience, and commitment” to the party’s electoral success.

The letter, addressed to the governor at the Kaduna State Government House, also invited him to the official flag-off rally of the campaign in Ekiti State.

The rally is scheduled to hold on Monday, April 27, at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, with proceedings expected to begin at 11:00am.

The Ekiti governorship race is seen as a key political contest for the APC as it seeks to consolidate its influence in the southwestern state.
