Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen has warned that Nigeria’s upcoming semi-final showdown against hosts Morocco will be a formidable challenge, though he remains confident in the team’s ability to reach the final.

Speaking shortly after Nigeria’s clinical 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria on Saturday, the reigning African Player of the Year emphasized the need for focus as the tournament reaches its business end.

“It is not going to be an easy walk for us,” Osimhen stated. “But I believe in this squad, and I believe in the quality of the players we have. We are taking it one game at a time.”

Eyes on the Golden Boot and the Trophy

Osimhen, who has been instrumental to Nigeria’s campaign, has already found the back of the net three times in the ongoing tournament. He will be looking to extend his tally when the Super Eagles face the Atlas Lions on Wednesday in what many are calling a “final before the final.”

In a video shared by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on X, the striker expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian fans for their unwavering support across the globe.

“To the Super Eagles fans, thank you so much for your support worldwide. This victory against Algeria was not easy, and I’m happy the team got the win,” he said. “We will continue to build on this momentum, and hopefully, we’ll get to the final and win it for you.”

The Road to the Semi-Finals

The Super Eagles secured their spot in the last four following an impressive performance against Algeria, building on the momentum from their Round of 16 victory over Mozambique.

Nigeria now faces a hostile atmosphere in the semi-finals as they take on the home favorites, Morocco. A win on Wednesday would put the three-time champions just one game away from their fourth continental title.
