The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced plans to expand its membership to 14 million ahead of the 2027 general elections, party leader Rauf Aregbesola stated on Monday.
Speaking at a press briefing, Aregbesola described the membership drive as a strategic move to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence nationwide. “Our target is clear: to mobilise citizens and provide a credible alternative in the upcoming elections,” he said.
The ADC, which has steadily grown its influence in several states, emphasises youth engagement and community development as part of its political agenda. Analysts note that the ambitious target reflects the party’s desire to challenge the dominance of Nigeria’s larger political parties in the next electoral cycle.
Aregbesola urged Nigerians to register and participate actively, highlighting the importance of political inclusion and civic responsibility.
