In a spirited declaration, the Forum of State Chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has thrown its unwavering support behind the party’s national leadership, spearheaded by former Senate President, Senator David Mark. The announcement, made in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, came via a statement from the Forum’s Chairman, Kingsley Temitope Ogga, who also serves as the Kogi State ADC Chairman.

Ogga issued a stern warning to the public to dismiss the claims of certain individuals, specifically the chairmen of the Benue and Nasarawa State chapters, who have been falsely presenting themselves as representatives of the Forum. He accused them of engaging in “negative media propaganda” against the party’s leadership, asserting that they lack any authority to speak on behalf of the ADC.

The Forum, representing 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory, reaffirmed its allegiance to Senator Mark and the newly formed National Working Committee (NWC). Ogga also clarified that Hon. Leke Abejide, the sole elected ADC member, remains indefinitely suspended due to alleged anti-party activities. According to Ogga, Abejide has been covertly working to align the ADC with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Since 2023, Abejide’s actions, including attempts to undermine the authority of the national and Kogi State leadership by holding unauthorised meetings, have led to his indefinite suspension,” Ogga stated. “This sanction remains firmly in place until the party decides otherwise.”

The ADC leadership’s resolute stance signals a united front, as they vow to protect the party’s integrity and independence in the face of internal dissent.
