With immense joy, I join countless well-wishers in celebrating my Boss of over four decades, the quintessential lawyer and iconic Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Ogwu James Onoja, SAN. He is a man of manifest distinction, a foremost community leader, an enabler of human and societal development, and a remarkable Nigerian patriot.
Nobility of Character: A Hallmark of a True Leader
Alfred Adler’s observation that “men of genius are admired, men of wealth are envied, men of power are feared, but only men of character are trusted” rings true in the life of Chief Onoja. He embodies this principle, belonging to that esteemed category of individuals whose intellect and honorable actions are deeply venerated. Nobility of character, a more valuable asset than material wealth, defines this man of the moment.
A personable gentleman of esteemed pedigree and high social capital, Chief Onoja, SAN, through hard work and a commitment to excellence, has risen to the zenith of his legal career. He stands as a colossus on the Nigerian legal arena, a man whose mind and orientation are perfectly suited for the role he plays on life’s stage. His high attainments and national recognition are testaments to his dedication and impact.
A Celebration of a Life Well-Lived
On this special day, I celebrate him as my distinguished leader, brother and good friend and mentor reaching the glorious milestone of 57 years through divine grace.

He is indisputably a pride of his generation, an illustrious son of Kogi State, his home state, and Nigeria in general. Chief Onoja is one of the most accomplished, distinguished, and celebrated Nigerian professionals of this era, a veritable role model for generations to come.
This tribute can only offer a glimpse into the essence of Chief Ogwu James Onoja, SAN. His personality, status, and impact are far greater than words can express.
Happy Birthday, Agenyi Attah of Igala Kingdom. Long live, sir.

On behalf of my family,
Usman Okai Austin
