The councillor representing Ogugu Ward III in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Rosemary Aduku, has passed away following her abduction by gunmen on October 1, 2026.
The Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government, Dr. Ameh Williams, announced the death on behalf of the Local Government Executive Council.
While the official notice confirmed her passing following the kidnapping incident, details regarding the circumstances of her release or the state of her health prior to her death were not immediately disclosed in the announcement.
In a statement confirming the funeral arrangements, the Council indicated that her remains will be interred today at 1:00 p.m. at her family compound in Ogugu Centre.
