Alhaji Ibrahim Dan‑Musa, a leading northern youth figure, has praised the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu said the country is already seeing the impact of a reinvigorated military.
Speaking in Lafia after a meeting of the Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly, Dan‑Musa pointed to recent coordinated operations that he says are preventing attacks and dismantling bandit strongholds. “Our soldiers are delivering results. Attacks are being preempted, and bandit strongholds are being systematically dismantled,” he said.
He also urged lasting peace between farmers and herders in Benue and Plateau states, warning that cycles of retaliation would undo the gains made by security forces. Dan‑Musa commended the military and other agencies for their continued cooperation in securing the region.
Praising the army’s leadership, he highlighted the COAS’s focus on professionalism, better operational welfare, and timely payment of allowances, saying discipline at the top has improved efficiency across the ranks. “Public trust in our military has been restored,” he said. “Nigerians are now eager to celebrate and support our troops whenever they see them. This change in sentiment comes from the standards championed by the Chief of Army Staff.”
Concluding, the Arewa youth leader called on traditional media and social‑media influencers to report responsibly, saying national security is a shared responsibility and that unfairly disparaging the military weakens the nation.
