Former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has expressed concern over a fresh wave of attacks by armed groups in parts of Sokoto State, urging authorities to adopt a more coordinated approach to tackling the worsening security situation.
Tambuwal said the renewed violence underscores the urgent need for stronger collaboration among security agencies, government institutions and local communities to protect lives and restore peace across the state.
The former governor stressed that the persistent attacks pose a serious threat to residents and the socio-economic wellbeing of affected communities, calling for sustained and intelligence-driven operations to confront criminal elements.
He also urged the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts not only in Sokoto but across the North-West, where armed banditry and related violent crimes continue to endanger lives and livelihoods.
Tambuwal maintained that addressing insecurity requires a unified strategy, expressing hope that decisive action would help bring lasting peace and stability to the region.
