Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has commended the Federal Government’s intelligence-led security strategy, saying it is beginning to record significant gains in tackling insecurity across Nigeria.
Bello made the remarks on Friday after a meeting with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at the NSA’s office in Abuja.
Speaking after the meeting, the former governor said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strengthened intelligence-driven security operations, leading to improved responses to criminal activities across different parts of the country.
He noted that recent security successes demonstrate the effectiveness of the government’s renewed approach to combating insecurity and restoring public confidence.
Bello’s comments come amid a series of notable security breakthroughs, including the foiling of an attempted abduction of schoolchildren in Kogi State and the successful rescue of pupils and teachers who were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The former governor expressed confidence that sustained collaboration among security agencies, backed by actionable intelligence, would further strengthen efforts to protect lives and property across the country.
His visit to the National Security Adviser comes as the Federal Government continues to intensify measures aimed at addressing security challenges and improving safety nationwide.
