The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will, on Friday, publish the personal particulars of all candidates seeking election into the offices of President and the National Assembly for the 2027 general elections.

The documents will be displayed at INEC offices across the country, allowing members of the public to inspect the credentials and information submitted by the candidates as part of the nomination process.

The exercise is in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, which require the electoral body to make candidates’ personal particulars publicly available to promote transparency and provide an opportunity for scrutiny before the elections.

Interested Nigerians, political parties and civil society organisations are expected to examine the documents and, where necessary, raise concerns through the appropriate legal channels if they discover any discrepancies or false declarations.

The publication of the personal particulars marks another significant milestone in preparations for the 2027 general elections, as INEC continues its constitutional responsibility of ensuring a transparent, credible and inclusive electoral process.

The commission has urged members of the public to take advantage of the inspection period and remain actively engaged in safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system.
