NASC Confirms Ibrahim Sidi as Substantive House of Reps Clerk

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Sidi as the substantive Clerk of the House of Representatives.

The confirmation was approved during the Commission’s 31st meeting held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the NASC Conference Room in Abuja.

In addition to Sidi’s appointment, the Commission confirmed five other senior officials into key administrative roles. They include:
Mrs. Fortune Ihua-Maduenyi Secretary, Protocol and Inter-Parliamentary Relations. Asien Fatima Nana Secretary, Zonal Liaison Offices, Engr. Bashir Layya Secretary, Estates and Works, Siaka Wahab Sadia Deputy Clerk (Legislative), House of Representatives, Dauda Bulama Bukar Deputy Clerk (Administration), House of Representatives.

Prior to their confirmation, Mr. Sidi and the other officers had been serving in their respective positions in an acting capacity since January 20, 2026.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, E.N. Anyigor, on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Commission.
