Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has been appointed to chair the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election scheduled for 15 August.
The appointment places Governor Uzodimma at the helm of the party’s campaign machinery as the APC intensifies efforts to reclaim Osun State ahead of the crucial poll.
As chairman of the council, Uzodimma is expected to coordinate the party’s campaign strategy, mobilise stakeholders, and oversee activities aimed at securing victory for the APC candidate across the state.
The constitution of the campaign council underscores the ruling party’s determination to mount a vigorous campaign in what is widely regarded as one of the most closely watched off-cycle governorship elections in the country.
Political observers say the outcome of the Osun election will serve as a significant test of the APC’s electoral strength and grassroots mobilisation ahead of future contests.
