The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has commissioned the newly built Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja Complex at the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) in Lagos.

The commissioning, which took place on Friday, July 17, 2026, reinforces the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity through modern infrastructure. The facility is designed to enhance professional military education, efficient administration, and personnel welfare as part of broader efforts to secure the nation.
Named in honour of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the complex aims to bolster the College’s training and administrative capabilities, providing a conducive environment for developing highly skilled logistics professionals to support nationwide military operations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Shaibu described his late predecessor as an outstanding military leader whose professionalism, integrity, and selfless service remain an enduring source of inspiration for the armed forces. He noted that immortalising the late Army Chief reflects the institution’s deep appreciation for his immense contributions to force development and leadership excellence.
“Sustained investment in training institutions, modern infrastructure, and personnel welfare remains fundamental to transforming the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptive, and combat-ready force,” Lieutenant General Shaibu stated, aligning the project with his strategic command philosophy to counter contemporary security challenges within a joint operating environment.

The Army Chief charged officers, instructors, and students of the College to uphold the values exemplified by the late General Lagbaja by maintaining absolute discipline and commitment to excellence in their duties.
