Army reports fresh gains across multiple conflict zones as counterinsurgency operations intensify nationwide

The Nigerian military says its forces have recorded a series of operational successes in the past 24 hours, including the interception of suspected logistics supplies linked to armed groups, the disruption of planned attacks, and the rescue of abducted civilians in separate operations across various theatres of deployment.

According to a statement released by the Nigerian Army, troops acting on intelligence-led operations moved against suspected militant and criminal networks, targeting supply routes believed to be used to sustain armed activities. The operations, the army said, resulted in the seizure of materials suspected to be intended for use by terrorist groups.

In addition to cutting off logistics chains, soldiers reportedly foiled attempted attacks in vulnerable communities, preventing what officials described as coordinated strikes aimed at civilian populations and security positions. The army did not immediately disclose the exact locations of all engagements, but said operations were conducted across multiple active security fronts.

Troops also rescued several kidnapped victims during clearance missions, according to the statement. The freed individuals are said to be receiving medical attention and undergoing debriefing procedures as efforts continue to track down their abductors.

The latest announcement comes amid ongoing military campaigns against insurgent and criminal networks operating in parts of the country. Security forces have in recent months intensified raids, patrols, and aerial surveillance in response to persistent attacks on rural communities, highways, and border areas.

Authorities say such coordinated operations are aimed at weakening the operational capacity of armed groups by disrupting their supply chains, command structures, and mobility.

The developments underscore the continuing security challenges facing Nigeria, where multiple armed groups remain active despite sustained military pressure. Officials maintain that ongoing offensives are yielding incremental gains, even as sporadic violence persists in some regions.

The military has urged residents in affected areas to remain vigilant and continue sharing credible intelligence with security agencies as operations expand.
