President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted a list of three ambassadorial nominees to the Nigerian Senate, requesting their confirmation in line with constitutional requirements.

The communication, forwarded to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and read on the floor of the Upper Chamber, contains the names of individuals the president has selected to represent Nigeria in key foreign missions. Although details of the nominees and their designated countries were not immediately disclosed, the request signals a new phase in the administration’s diplomatic appointments.

Senate leadership acknowledged receipt of the letter and indicated that the screening process would begin soon, following standard legislative procedures. Lawmakers are expected to review the credentials, experience, and suitability of each nominee before voting on their confirmation.

The nominations come as Nigeria continues to recalibrate its foreign policy priorities, strengthen bilateral relationships, and project national interests on the global stage.
