The Kogi East Elders Council (KEEC) has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Major‑General Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff and for naming Princess Eke Audu Abubakar as Executive Director at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMSA).

In a letter to the President, signed by Prof. Godwin Ogbadu, chairman, and Chief Dr Rekiya Momoh‑Abaji, secretary‑general, KEEC described Major‑General Shaibu — an officer from Kogi East senatorial district with a distinguished service record — as a strategic choice that will positively impact both the people of Kogi East and the nation amid current security challenges. The council commended Mr. Tinubu’s contributions to the region since he assumed office.

KEEC, established by the Ata‑Igala to advise on the social, political, economic and security welfare of the Igala people, also expressed delight at the appointment of Princess Eke Audu Abubakar to NEMSA, calling the selection a welcome recognition for the region.

The council pledged continued cooperation and support for the Tinubu administration as it addresses Nigeria’s economic, political and security challenges, and prayed for the success of the government. The statement reaffirmed KEEC’s role in providing direction to the people of Kogi East and Kogi State.
