Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was instrumental as Galatasaray cruised to a commanding 4-0 victory over Kayserispor at the Kadir Has Stadium, marking a stellar start to their Super Lig campaign. This win secured the club’s first flawless trio of opening league victories without conceding in 18 years, a feat last achieved in the 2007/08 season.

Making his first league start of the season, Osimhen combined athleticism and sharpness to open his scoring account in the 86th minute. After skilful interplay with teammates Mauro Icardi and Nicolo Zaniolo, he raced into the box and calmly slotted home a pinpoint cross from Zaniolo, further cementing Galatasaray’s dominance.

Prior to Osimhen’s goal, midfielder Eren Elmali had already doubled the lead with two headed goals, including one assisted by Galatasaray’s Leroy Sané, who also sealed the win with a late deflected strike.

Coach Orkan Buruk, who featured in Galatasaray’s last similar record-breaking season in 2007/08 alongside legends like Rigobert Song and Arda Turan, expressed satisfaction at the team’s balanced start, saying, “This is a proud moment for us. To replicate the achievements of that golden squad is a strong foundation for the season ahead.”

The 4-0 triumph reflects Galatasaray’s growing momentum, with Osimhen quickly becoming a key figure in the club’s ambitions. Their next challenge comes against Rizespor at Rams Park, where the team will aim to maintain their unbeaten run and build on this historic milestone.
