The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) have inked a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance home-grown defence and aerospace innovation. Signed during a visit by NAF Chief, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, to NASENI’s headquarters, the agreement strengthens their collaboration, as announced by NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

The MoU enhances joint efforts in research, development, and local production, including the Nigerian-made C-5 rocket and a new technology hub at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Kaduna. Abubakar hailed NASENI as a “beacon of hope” for Nigeria’s technological progress, urging co-ownership of the C-5 Rocket Project to drive self-reliance.

NASENI’s CEO, Khalil Halilu, pledged to support NAF’s operational growth, marking the partnership as a pivotal step towards Nigeria’s technological sovereignty. The collaboration aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, prioritising innovation and indigenous defence capabilities.
