Governor Abdullahi Sule has revealed that approximately 20 individuals have expressed interest in succeeding him as governor of Nasarawa State in the 2027 elections.
Speaking at a grand reception held in honor of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Labaran Magaji, in Lafia, Governor Sule emphasized his commitment to neutrality. He stated that he would not endorse or impose any particular candidate, affirming his belief that the ultimate decision rests with divine will.
“I want to use this opportunity to inform you that so far, about 20 people are already in the race for the governorship of Nasarawa State,” Governor Sule declared, acknowledging the heightened political climate.
He stressed the importance of political maturity among the aspirants, highlighting the need for strategic alliances, reconciliation, and collaborative efforts. “There is going to be a lot of alliances, a lot of forgiveness, and a lot of teamwork if we really want to move forward, because at the end of the day, only one person will get it,” he said. “It is God Almighty who will select our next governor, not A.A. Sule.”
Governor Sule also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support of Nasarawa State’s development initiatives.
