The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its Zonal Congresses for the North Central, South South, and South West zones, initially scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025.
According to a statement by National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the decision is in solidarity with Plateau State following recent killings and to allow governors from the affected zones to attend the PDP Governor’s Forum meeting in Ibadan on Sunday and Monday.
The South West Zonal Congress has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2025. New dates for the North Central and South South congresses will be announced later. The NWC has directed the Chief Emmanuel Ogidi-led South South Zonal Caretaker Committee to continue its oversight in the zone.
The PDP urges all stakeholders, members, INEC, the media, security agencies, and the public to take note of the postponement.
