Anambra 2025: Soludo Wins APGA Primary, to Battle For Re-election As Governor

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has been officially nominated as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.

The primary election, which took place on Saturday in Awka, saw Soludo returned unopposed, securing overwhelming support from party delegates. Over 300 votes were cast in his favor.

Delegates from all 21 local government areas in the state participated in the primary, voting “yes” or “no” to affirm Soludo’s candidacy. After the ballots were sorted and counted, the chairman of the electoral panel, Uche Nwegbo, announced the final results.

Out of 3,260 expected delegates, 3,175 were accredited. A total of 3,172 votes were cast, with 3,168 voting “yes,” zero voting “no,” and four votes being declared invalid.

With this landslide endorsement, Nwegbo declared Soludo as APGA’s candidate for the November election, drawing loud cheers from party supporters present at the venue.
