It is no longer news that the president of the Fulani socio cultural group ” Miyetti Allah Kautol Hore, Alhaji Bello Bodejo is currently under arrest by the Nigeria Army.
The arrest of the said president of the Fulani leader was effected by the army of 117 Brigade of Guard ,Shehu Alau Battalion Keffi on Monday.
A source who confided to our correspondent said the arrest was not carried out in Bodejo’s official resident as reported by some media organizations but was based on invitation by the military at Keffi.
He further stated that Alhaji Bodejo honoured the invitation by the military only to be told he is under arrest.
However in a press conference organized by one of the family member of Bodejo, he claimed that Bodejo was arrested in his Tudun Wada office at Karshi Development Area of Karu LGA in Nasarawa State.
Attempt to reach out to the military at Keffi to ascertain the reason behind the arrest of Bello Bodejo failed short of official statement to why the Miyetti Allah Kautol Hore leader was detained as the family allegedly in a press conference alluded.
However from our findings ,it was allegedly that a fight ensued in a farm belonging to a retired military general whose farm was invaded by cattle , warranting the retired general to shutdown some cows leading to reprisal
from the herders ,who also disarmed the retired general.
But the involvement of Bello Bodejo though sketchy was hinged on the fact that the said herder after reporting the matter sought the intervention of his leader in the matter. This is how the military demanded that the Miyetti Allah Kautol Hore president Alhaji Bodejo appeared for questioning.
The family through their lawyer have alleged the unlawful detention of the Miyetti Allah Kautol Hore president who knew nothing about the incident but only trying to intervene for possible settlement
A source said except the military is holding something against the Fulani leader who was about to commission a market he developed ,the arrest was unjustly meted on him
Meanwhile the lawyers and others have been restricted access to Bello Bodejo who has now been transferred from Keffi to Abuja, a closed confident of the family said.
As at the time of filing this report the military are yet established concrete reason linking Bodejo to the case
