A leading contender for the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Engr. Sanni Salau Ogembe, has congratulated the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Ogembe, popularly known as “Ejanla,” described the former Governor’s emergence as a reflection of his deep-rooted political influence and a testament to his transformative leadership during his eight-year tenure as governor.
In a statement released on Monday, Ogembe noted that the overwhelming support Bello received from party delegates was an “expression of gratitude” for his inclusive and visionary governance.
“The massive turnout and the decisive mandate given to Alhaji Yahaya Bello do not come as a surprise,” Ogembe said. “The people of Kogi Central are eager to be represented by a leader of his caliber at the Red Chamber to ensure the district continues to benefit from his wealth of experience and political sagacity.”
The House of Representatives hopeful also extended accolades to the incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for overseeing a transparent and peaceful primary process. He lauded Governor Ododo’s commitment to internal party democracy and his efforts in consolidating the achievements of the previous administration.
While wishing the former Governor success in the upcoming 2027 general elections, Ogembe expressed confidence that the APC would record a landslide victory across the state.
