The Office of the APC Zonal Chairman, Kogi East, on behalf of the party’s members in the zone, wishes to clarify ongoing reports alleging that leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have endorsed an individual for an elective position ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC Zonal Chairman, Kogi East, Hon. Abdul Ogwu Alhassan, hereby urges the general public—and particularly the APC faithful in Kogi East—to disregard statements reportedly made at a gathering held yesterday. These claims do not reflect the official position of the party.

For the avoidance of doubt, the gathering in question was strictly an Easter celebration. Dr. Ameh Erico hosted APC stakeholders and FAWWASS members in the spirit of the season. At no point was the event intended to serve as a platform for political endorsements.

The APC in Kogi State operates through established structures and due process. Our leaders—including the former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello; the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo; and other critical stakeholders in Kogi East—have not endorsed any aspirant or issued any directives regarding the 2027 elections.

The party’s leadership has not cleared any individual for any elective position. All APC aspirants are encouraged to continue their consultations within the framework of the party’s constitution and guidelines.

In light of this, the public is advised to disregard any misleading claims, statements, or videos circulating on social media suggesting otherwise. The APC remains committed to unity, due process, and transparency in all its political activities.
